Why Should I Stay Single?

If you don’t have a partner, there’s no need to worry as a lot of people prefer to remain unattached. Here are some of the reasons why people choose to stay single.

Less Expensive

Getting married isn’t all about wine and roses. You have to start working hard to provide for your spouse (if he / she isn’t working). You also have to start saving up for your house.

It’s tough enough to make a living, but what happens when you start having kids? You’ll have to think about buying milk, diapers etc. This goes on until they get into college.

This doesn’t even factor in the costs when one of them gets sick. Also, you have to think about the things you have to buy for your spouse, kids and other relatives. It’s not something you hear often, but one reason why people choose to stay single is that it’s cheaper.

Of course, you shouldn’t think in dollars and cents when buying stuff for the ones you love. But when it comes to the bottom line, living alone is cheaper.

Control over Money

The time will come when couples will argue about money. It doesn’t matter if they’re rich or poor. Money problems will always surface at some point. If you’re single, you don’t have to worry about this.

If you make a bad investment, you have no one to blame but yourself. If you’re married, you won’t hear the end of it from your partner. If you live alone, no one has to know you lost $50,000 in a pyramiding scheme.

That is why people choose to stay single. You control your finances. What happens to it is your responsibility. Losing cash is hard enough without having to hear about it everyday from your spouse.

No Domestic Issues

It doesn’t happen all the time, but so many problems can come up during marriage. Aside from money, there are meddling in laws and dealing with other relatives of your spouse. Remember, you don’t just marry your partner; you marry into his / her family.

It’s also a fact that when people are in the courting stage, their best attributes come out. Men appear courteous and women sweet and gentle. Negative aspects like being lazy or a nagger don’t show up until much later. This is why people choose to stay single. All of these potential problems will never come up.

Control of Your Time

When you get married, you’ll have to act more responsibly. That is, you can’t stay out all night. You can’t just invite all your friends into the house anytime. You also have to keep a lot more things in mind. This includes budgeting for everyone, so you can’t splurge on that home entertainment system like you want to.

If you live by yourself, you can stay out all night. There’s no need to worry about someone asking why you‘re late. You can go straight to bed without washing the dishes. You can spend your paycheck buying whatever you want without feeling guilty.

These are just some of the reasons why people choose to stay single. Some may think it’s unusual, but don’t pay attention to it. They don’t know what they’re missing.
